A seminar entitled "Update on Recent Changes in Employment Law" was held on the morning of 8 July at the Grovefield House Hotel, Burnham. The informative but informal briefing on some of the latest and hottest employment law topics gave practical advice and offered a sensible and balanced view of the latest approach to these areas of constantly changing employment law.
The briefing was well attended, with some 24 guests, and lasted for approximately one hour, followed by an opportunity to chat, ask questions and enjoy coffee, tea and pastries.
Maternity Rights - the October 2008 changes to this already complex area of law will be covered and common areas of difficulty discussed.
Employment Bill 2007-08: an insight into the ACAS code of practice on disciplinary and grievance issues which is expected to take effect in April 2009.
Flexible Working The extension of the right to request flexible working to parents of children up to age 16: what will this mean to your business?
Sexual Harassment - The scope of employer's liability was extended with effect from April 2008. The new rules will be considered with an emphasis on how practical they are in reality.
